This classification offers endoscopic surgeons an evidence-based and easy-to-understand view on the different complexities of the 14 most used approaches:

  • PECCD (Posterior endoscopic central decompression)

  • PECF (Posterior endoscopic cervical foraminotomy)

  • TETD (Transforaminal endoscopic thoracic discectomy)

  • TE-ULBD (Thoracic endoscopic unilateral laminotomy for bilateral decompression)

  • EELD (Extraforaminal endoscopic lumbar discectomy)

  • ICELF (Interlaminar contralateral endoscopic lumbar foraminotomy)

  • LE-ULBD (Lumbar endoscopic unilateral laminotomy for bilateral decompression)

  • TELF (Transforaminal endoscopic lumbar foraminotomy)

  • IELD (Interlaminar endoscopic lumbar discectomy)

  • TELD (Transforaminal endoscopic lumbar discectomy)

  • MBT (Medial Branch Transection)

  • IE-LRD (Interlaminar endoscopic lateral recess decompression)

  • TE-LRD (Transforaminal endoscopic lateral recess decompression)

  • Endoscopic Fusion
